My favourite city

My favourite was Rotterdam. I didn't went with the school, I went with the family, but it was really nice! I liked it because there are a lot of shops, a big harbour(the biggest in Europe and one of the biggests in the world)... A really interesting thing was that there are boat taxis in the river, I took one and it was a good experience. In Rotterdam there is a big bridge to cross the river. The bridge name's Erasmus bridge. Another interesting thing was there is a european walk of fame. A bad thing was in the second world war almost all the city was destroyed, so is a very new city, but it´s nice.I liked very much this city!

VAN GOGH MUSEUM

My favourite paiting is The Pink Peach Tree because I like the colours and the sensations that that painting inspires to me. It inspires me tranquility and wellness. The colours are clear and bright . It looks like a snow tree but it's a peach tree with pink flowers because Van Gogh used a kind of paint that discolours, and in fact disappears.

Vincent van Gogh (30 March 1853 – 29 July 1890) was a Dutch post-Impressionist painter whose work had a far-reaching influence on 20th century art for its vivid colors and emotional impact. He painted 900 paintings (including 27 self-portraits and 148 watercolors) and 1600 drawings. He suffered from anxiety and increasingly frequent bouts of mental illness throughout his life and died, largely unknown, at the age of 37 from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

My experience in Holland

My experience in Holland was fantastic. Naturally in my first day I was a little shy because I didn’t know very well but the mother was very nice with me she also has a brother but I hardly never took with him because he is never in the house. The house wasn’t so big but enough for 4 people living there.

By bad luck my exchange wasn’t very friendly with me she hardly never spoke with me and she never concerned how I was.

But this is less. I had a good time seeing all the cities that we visited and our free time for buy things. So this is my time in Holland.

MY FAVORITE CITY

My favorite city, without doubt, is Amsterdam. I love this city. My first impression was there are a lot of bicycles, people, traffic, monuments and shops. We walked a lot on the city, to see different important places. We visited the Anna Frank’s house, Red Light District (that are streets with bitches in the windows), Van Gogh museum, monuments, squares… There are different shops and when we went to shopping and I bought a lot of presents for my family. In the Van Gogh museum we had a guide that she explained us the paintings of Van Gogh and a little bit of his life. I want to live there but the only drawback it has is the weather; always almost it’s very cold and raining.

KAMP VUGHT

It is a concentration camp where the Nazis killed people of toher races simply because they were different. The Nazis told to he families taht they bring to a new place, the best place where tehy could be better. The families that they belived all were separated forever. Entrabts to the filed the children were left over an they killed more directly and the men were working where requierd great force. They only were a numbers with a strioed clothers.
For me, this issue gives me great respect, alwasy the people tal about this 'm very sorry for all the families that were separated and killed by didn't do anything.
What surprised me was that Jews or people of other races, the place they liked best were the bathroom, because the guards closed the door by the smell it did, and then the Jews could talk about the things, send letters, plan strategies to escape...

Vincent Van Gogh was a famous painter who was born in Holland, 1853, and was died in France, 1890. Ne had neither children nor women, only a married brother. He painted 900 paintings (including 27 self-portraits and 148 watercolors) and 1600 drawings. He is famous because, in addition to paintings, he cut off his ear.
My favorite painting that I saw in the museum is “Los girasoles” because it is a contrast between the colors, that are clear and bright, and the position of the flowers is looking down. This painting it´s very famous and I listening a lot of people talk about it.

My favorite city

My favorite city is Amsterdam. My first impression was the greatness of the city and the lot of shops that has different. We walked a lot of for the city, walk in Amsterdam is difficult because it have tram, and you have to be watching all the time. The visit to the Van Gogh museum was very short, the guide told us just three or four paintings, and there are a lot of. We can see the red light district and the home of Anne Frank. I was surprised the red light district, for bitches in the windows, in Catalonia are only at roundabouts and it’s better as they do in Amsterdam. In Amsterdam I buy presents for my family. Amsterdam is ok, but I prefer live in Vilanova, because the weather in Holland is very cold and sometimes it’s raining. These last days I felt tired. In Holland we had a great time, spring was coming.

Kamp Vught

In this concentration camp like many other children were nuisances. The Nazis told the families that children would lead to a better camp for them. Families believed it all, they thought the children would be better, but all they did was to separate children and once in the concentration camp, were killed in the chamber of gas. All those families with the name and a life ... in the end they were only numbers with striped clothing.
When we were entering the rooms of cremation of people who died from beatings and starvation, and showed us the rooms of punishment, all damp and dark, I collapsed. For me all this things are terrible. I felt very sorry for all those families who were separated and could not see anymore.

Van Gogh museum

I have chosen this painting for his colors, the beauty of the design and his history:
On January 31, 1890, Theo wrote to Vincent of the birth of his son, whom he had named Vincent Willem. Van Gogh, who was extremely close to his younger brother, immediately set about making him a painting of his favorite subject: blossoming branches against a blue sky. The gift was meant to hang over the couple’s bed. As a symbol of this new life, Vincent chose an almond tree, which blooms early in southern regions, announcing the coming spring as early as February.

The wheather isn't so good, every day is cloudy, but we're lucky as it isn't raining. De Nassau school is a very big high school, but for the Dutch students is small. I live in a village 20 minutes cycling from the school. My partner is Vincent, and he's a good and friendly . The first day, Vincent was sick, but now he's better.
